National Algae Association Announces Policy Guidelines

Share |

The National Algae Association, a 501(c)6 association whose mission is to fast-track commercialization of the algae production industry, has announced the following policy guidelines.

(I-Newswire) August 12, 2010 - In an attempt to cut down on all the noise and claims about particular algae production systems, the NAA will not endorse any system or technology designed for growing, harvesting or extraction that has not been benchmarked and results verified by approved outside third parties. Once the data is verified by the NAA's engineering and research committees, NAA will test for scalability on acreage before issuing endorsements.

In other news, early registration for the September 23-24, 2010 conference ends this week. Join the algae producers, equipment manufacturers and algae researchers who say "we don't need to wait another 5 years - we need commercial-scale algae production NOW." Learn about innovative algae processes and technologies from the algaepreneurs actually growing, harvesting and extracting algae oil and biomass using available technologies. Collaborate with researchers, algae producers and harvesting and extraction system manufacturers including Charles Bensinger of Eldorado Biofuels, Dr. Brian Hampson of CalPoly, Marco Brocken of Evodos, Joseph A. Holroyd of LakeMaster Corp, Victoria Kurtz of Fluid Imaging Technologies, Surijit Khanna of BARD Holding, OriginOil, John DePersenaire of Water Management Solutions, LLC, Dr. Matt Prufert of DRS Technologies, Stoel Rives, Serge Randhava of United Technologies, Inc. Bill Ramey of NovakDruce, Sebastian Thomas of Parry Nutraceuticals, Bob Vitale of Waterwheel Factory, Bob Weber of Sunrise Ridge Algae, Hank Gilbert, Democrat for Texas Agriculture Commissioner and Dr. Hideki Kanda/ of the Central Research Institute of Electric Power Industry as we all continue our efforts to move algae out of the lab and into the market.
