MyTalentPlace the online careers advice site for students has announced the launch of it's new Careers Advisor Plus online webinars. These are made available to teachers tasked with Careers Advice and the PSHE curriculum.

(I-Newswire) February 25, 2010 - MyTalentPlace, http//:www.mytalentplace.co.uk, the innovative provider of careers advice solutions in the UK has launched a new range of ready to use online careers lessons - Careers Advisor Plus Webinars. These are available to all secondary schools as well as colleges within the UK on an annual subscription basis.

One of the biggest challenges faced by Careers Advisors and Heads of PSHE in school is how to keep pace with the rapidly changing world of work. When this is combined with the lack of lesson time in which to achieve careers advice objectives, the magnitude of the problem becomes clear. Other issues faced by teachers are the short attention spans of students and their need to engage with high impact media. The careers advice area has, for a number of years now, received insufficient attention and this innovative solution goes a long way to solving the problem.

Schools can pick and mix from a range of 25 ready to use webinars and pay for this on an annual subscription basis. The benefit of this is that as soon as any webinars are updated (and they are updated regularly), subscribing schools automatically receive the update. It is important that materials are updated regularly as the world of work changes. By simply clicking on a link, a registered teacher can show a webinar on for example, “How to write a persuasive cover letter” to the class. Preparation time and the need for specific expertise are reduced as all webinars have facilitators guide’s, handouts and exercises.

A further benefit is that these webinars can be uploaded onto any school’s virtual learning environment with no additional cost. Many schools are now focusing on gaining the necessary return from investing in VLE’s. Those students who missed a class or would like to put in extra effort are able to access the virtual learning environment and make use of these resources.

For teachers focused on improving the quality of careers advice received by students, these ready to use lessons are the way to go. Teachers can register (free) on the site at
http://www.mytalentplace.co.uk/teacher_registration.php. Registered teachers are able to use and test 2 free webinars in the classroom.
