Traverse City, MI-MyNorth Media which produces Traverse, Northern Michigan's Magazine and MyNorth.com announced today the addition of Jeff Hale and Kris Riley to the video production and sales staff. Hale is an account executive on the MyNorth Media team providing marketing consulting for video production clients. Riley is a high-definition videographer and editor, producing videos on behalf of clients.

"We can see how fast our high-definition video production business is growing," says Jan Chapman, MyNorth Media advertising director. "With the arrival of spring our current client base is already actively securing our video production services. Plus we know there are many more businesses just starting to consider how video fits into their plans. Jeff Hale is going to help us support that growth and expand our client base."

Riley will film, edit and upload both client videos and editorial material for MyNorth.com. "Not only did we see our clients' video demands increasing, but Kris will help us meet our increased editorial video needs," says Deborah Wyatt Fellows, the founder and president of MyNorth Media, which started 30 years ago with the production of Traverse, Northern Michigan's Magazine. "Bringing Kris on as a staff member will help us keep pace with demand." MyNorth Media has found a large audience using high-definition video to help them make travel and entertainment decisions or revisit places they enjoy.

Hale will be able to provide MyNorth Media's Northern Michigan clients with insight into planning the creative content of their videos and the strategy on placing them. With more than 25 years of strategic marketing experience working with Michigan advertising agency, W. B. Doner in account service, his skills include media planning, creative development and customer service.

Hale's most recent work has been with ABC Warehouse, The Kroger Co., Blockbuster Inc. and AutoTrader.com. For Blockbuster he was instrumental in helping the movie rental giant compete with Netflix in the video by mail segment. He supervised the campaigns that moved AutoTrader.com into the new car online sales business, the classic car business and scored double-digit sales increases through a trade campaign. He also managed the award-wining production of the "Gordy" campaign for ABC Warehouse.

Riley comes to MyNorth Media from Alaska where he produced award-winning videos, working for all three local affiliates of national broadcast news networks, ABC, NBC and CBS. His credits include pieces on Good Morning America and Telemundo. He's covered intriguing human-interest stories of small villages as well as national, iconic topics like Sarah Palin's candidacy, presidential visits to military facilities and the live broadcast of a Wynonna Judd concert.

"MyNorth Media has the expertise to tell your story with the same creativity, integrity and quality that has fueled our success for 30 years," says Fellows. "And with the addition of Jeff and Kris to our team, we're ready to help Northern Michigan reach the audience it most wants to reach with high-definition video."

Currently MyNorth Media has produced more than 200 videos from: attractions and activities like Sleeping Bear Dunes, snowboarding tricks, Michigan boating, finding spring morels and fall color tour drives; coverage of the panel discussions of the Traverse City Film Fest; to tours of restaurants and hotels all over Northern Michigan; "how to" videos on home decor and outdoor camping skills; to celebrity interviews and corporate promotional videos. Clients have found great success in placing these videos not only on the MyNorth.com video section, but can also use the high-definition video on their own websites, on YouTube, for commercials on television and in rich-media advertising online.

The MyNorth Media video team covers all of Northern Michigan producing videos as far North as Houghton Hancock and Lake Superior. There are dozens of videos of Mackinac Island, Petoskey, Charlevoix and Harbor Springs and even venturing southward to Frankfort. In the Traverse City area, MyNorth Media has found the professional segment receptive to using video production services for employee training, training videos for staff, product assembly videos for customers or educational videos in medicine, finance or law.
