Mukund Madhav Tiwari, FORE School Of Management Batch- 2012 – “FORE School Of Management Helps Mukund Get Where He Is At Least Two Years In Advance!”
Some of God’s greatest blessings are unanswered prayers… at least, that’s what Mukund Madhav Tewari now believes.
Delhi (I-Newswire) October 25, 2012 - Some of God’s greatest blessings are unanswered prayers… at least, that’s what Mukund Madhav Tewari now believes. Had Mukund had his way, he would’ve worked as a technologist acquiring some work experience for a few years after completing his B.Tech. Thereafter, he would have gone for an MBA from a top-notch B-school, and after that graduated to the role of a manager.
“I was planning on an MBA from the very first year of my B.Tech. My plan was to gain a job experience of 2 years after completing my B.Tech, but immediately on completion of my Engineering I was presented with the opportunity to pursue my PGDM from FORE School of Management. This was too good a chance to let go of, and I could not resist joining FORE and completing my MBA.”
Today, 5 months after having passed out with the IMG-IV batch of FORE School of Management, Mukund is sitting pretty as the Territory Sales Manager (Commercial Vehicle Business Unit) at TATA Motors – the biggest manufacturers and sellers of commercial vehicles. He manages a team of about a 100 Employees on Project ‘Neev’, and manages 8 dealerships of TATA Motors. Right from managing finances to achieving sales targets, Mukund does it all.
“Project ‘Neev’ is a recent rural initiative of TATA Motors, and I have been handling the project from scratch in my territory of Pune, Mumbai, Thane, Raigad, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg districts. To achieve this I need to travel extensively across my territory and build a sales team of my own, train them and help them work directly in the field and generate more revenue for the firm. I am also working in close association with Accenture on project ‘Neev’.”
Mukund loves his job, and the freedom that comes with working on a greenfields project. The entry of foreign players like Bharat Benz and Foton constantly requires him to find new ways to penetrate the market and increase volume sales for the firm; but he feels that FORE School of Management has prepared him well for such challenges. In hindsight,FORE School of Management has helped Mukund get ahead by at least two years in his career.
“The two most important skills of a manager are the ability to lead a team and ability to understand the business needs of your customer. Both these skills are bread-and-butter for managers from FORE School of Management. The greatest strength of FORE is its highly experienced faculty from various fields of business. The teachers acquaint you with the current ground realities of the business world over and above the curriculum.”
Mukund plans to create a sound career base for himself over the next five years and thereafter, aims to start his own firm. He believes that with the slew of reforms being announced by the government, students of premier B-schools in India, like FORE School of Management, can expect a windfall of opportunities.
