Guests traveling from Miami will enjoy a luxury 32,000 square foot property that will boast 5 exclusive entertainment areas, featuring restaurants, fine dining, a lounge, and several bars. The hotel will have 227 sleeping rooms, full-service spa, beauty salon, and a lush pool overlooking the aquamarine hues of the Caribbean Sea.

The hotel will also have 850 square feet of meeting and banquet spaces, which will attract meetings and conventions from all over the region, as well as Miami. Without a doubt the hotel's meeting spaces will be part of the on-going economic development-taking place between Miami and the Dominican Republic. Today, the Dominican Republic is Miami's number 8-trade partner, with more than US$2.9 billion of imports and exports, according to WorldCity.

The 5-star hotel promises to offer the amenities and services of InterContinental Hotels all over the world. The project, which recently broke-ground, is being developed by Grupo Poma's hotel division Real Hotels & Resorts, which operates, franchises, and owns 27 hotels in 10 countries, including the InterContinental at Doral Miami in South Florida.

Fernando Poma, Executive Vice President of Real Hotels & Resorts said, "We strive to offer the best experience through two key areas: our employees and our infrastructure, which are based on a set of product attributes that have already become standards in our hotels and provide our guests with the best rest possible and vibrant and safe places for, both, business and leisure."

Real InterContinental Santo Domingo is poised to become an important commercial, business, and entertainment point of the capital city where South Floridians can feel at home.
