Miami, Florida (I-Newswire) September 19, 2011 - Miami, Florida – Robert Hinds, renowned MMA Official, will be presenting a two day workshop to be held on September 30th and October 1st at the Courtyard Marriott, Dolphin Mall with special guest speaker, Sal D’Amato. The two day workshop is hosted by MIH Development, LLC.

Prior to this scheduled event, this type of training was only available outside of the State of Florida. Now, for the first time, MMA Referee and Judge training will be presented in Miami.

The recent announcement of the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) signing a long term deal with Fox Sports Network to show UFC live events on network television, shows that the sport of Mixed Martial Arts is finally becoming mainstream.

Locally, several Florida based MMA promotional organizations such as: CFA (Championship Fighting Alliance), Fight Time Promotions, Gladiator Fight League, and Ultimate Alliance Fights are putting on events at a rapid pace.

With the immense growth in demand and popularity of the sport in Florida, the need for educated and properly trained MMA Officials is paramount.

Robert Hinds created Combat Consulting LLC to educate and train individuals to become knowledgeable, true professionals. All ranges and experience levels of MMA Officials benefit by attending the workshops as the sport of Mixed Martial Arts continues to evolve quickly.

Rob explains, “Either evolve with the sport’s rules, regulations, techniques and athletes, or the sport will quickly pass you by.”

A highly respected and sought after Officials’ Trainer, Rob’s courses are approved through the ABC (Association of Boxing Commissions). He is one of only six trainers in North America approved for both Referees and Judges. Rob is an active official who is currently licensed as a MMA Referee & MMA Judge in several states.

Robert Hinds has refereed over 4,000 (and has judged over 650) Mixed Martial Arts bouts in his well established career, starting in late 1994. As a former professional fighter, Rob has a unique and thorough understanding of the mindset of the fighter inside the ring or cage which plays a vital role when making decisions affecting the safety of a fighter and the fairness of the bouts.

Rob states, “My tagline, ‘Every Fighter. Every Fight. Every Time™,’ is my belief, my promise and the standard I set when it comes to the care and consistency in which each bout should be overseen, regardless of the level of competition. That phrase is what the focus of ALL MMA Officials should be about.”

Rob dedicates much of his time to researching and updating rules, regulations and procedures to keep current with the continuing evolution of the sport.

Veteran MMA judge, Sal D’Amato is the co-facilitator for the Judge Training on Friday, September 30th.
D’Amato and Hinds have worked closely as officials for many years and have teamed up to provide the most current, updated insight and education on the sport.

Sal has judged bouts in well known Combat Sport Organizations such as K-1, IFL, WEC, Strike Force, and is a frequent official recommended and used by the UFC.

D’Amato judged his first UFC Event in 2007, and has recently become one of the preferred Judges. Sal has been assigned to judge some of the UFC’s highest profile fights including Randy Couture vs. Brandon Vera, BJ Penn vs. Diego Sanchez, Cain Velasquez vs. Antonio Nogueira, Chuck Liddell vs. Rich Franklin and many more. He recently judged at UFC 134 – Rio on August 27th. Sal brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to be one of the top judges in the sport of MMA, today.
