MindTree Becomes Testing Entity for CUPPS Certification

(I-Newswire) November 10, 2009 - Bangalore, INDIA, November 10, 2009: MindTree Ltd., a global IT Solutions Company, today announced that it has been selected as a CUPPS (Common Use Passenger Processing System) Testing Entity (CTE) by the CUPPS Committee, a collaboration of airlines, airports and vendors. MindTree is among a select few companies with the distinction of serving as a Testing Entity on the CUPPS platform. As a CTE, MindTree, with its deep airline domain expertise coupled with its strong Testing capabilities, is now able to:
• Help airlines switch their IT applications from CUTE (Common Use Terminal Equipment) to CUPPS standard
• Assist CUPPS platform vendors in certifying their products
• Provide validation services to airline and airport applications that use those platforms

CUPPS is a common, standardized system platform for agent-facing common-use implementations at airports. As a CTE, MindTree has already provided CUPPS certification services to two of the world’s leading IT solutions providers to the air transport industry.
CUPPS aims to standardize data flow among airlines and airports around a simplified XML schema. CUPPS is an overhaul of the previous CUTE standard. Proliferation of non-standardized providers and their respective platforms and/or implementation methodologies made support of airline applications and airport environments difficult. CUPPS standard ensures a common system platform that reduces support costs — by allowing the use of one application by an air carrier, in both the proprietary and common-use environments — and enables integration with other airport systems such as those supporting flight information display and dynamic signage.
