The Military Writers Society of America announced the finalists for its 2009 People’s Choice Awards on September 12, 2009. Marc Yablonka, Rob Ballister, Mike Mullins, Pat Avery, and MWSA President, Joyce Faulkner, appeared on the Veterans Radio Show, http://www.veteransradio.net/, hosted by Dale Throneberry to announce the finalists. The list includes:

Entries were composed after reviewing four photographs. Writers chose one of the four as a stimulus for their work. The entries ranged from poetry to essays to song lyrics.
