Mich-Mash Productions Presents First Annual FUN ART - A Fundraising Carnival
Mich Mash Productions will host Fun Art - A Fundraising Carnival on July 13, 2013 to share creative works of dance that mix performance and technology.
Online, June 25, 2013 (Newswire.com) - Mich Mash Productions will host Fun Art - A Fundraising Carnival on July 13, 2013 to share creative works of dance that mix performance and technology. The fundraiser will feature six dance pieces, games, raffles and a silent auction. The company, headed by Artistic Director Micheline Heal, will present a wide range of works that demonstrates the breadth of the company's repertoire. Created collaboratively, these works range from choreoplays (dance-theater pieces with a narrative arc) to abstract movement explorations.
Heal performed with internationally touring American Chinese Arts Society's Traditional Chinese Dance Troupe for ten years. In 2011 she received a Young Artist Grant from the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities and in 2010 was a resident artist at the Firkin Crane in Ireland, selected alongside Kyle Abraham. In 2012 she was curated into Walter Reed Memorial Hospital's "Stages of Healing", a series that included the Liz Lerman Dance Exchange. Also in 2012, her dance film "The House on the Hill" was selected to be screened at the Movies by Movers Festival in Winston Salem, NC.
Held in Manhattan, this fundraiser is the company's coming-out celebration in New York City. Proceeds from the fundraiser will support Mich-Mash Productions. Works can be seen on YouTube, http://www.youtube.com/user/michmashproductions.
