That’s right, according to Cindy Tollen, owner of Sudz n Bubbles, an online boutique specializing in handmade soaps; her fastest growing clientele is men. She says that because most store bought soaps aren’t really soap (they’re detergent based), once men first use and experience the benefits of a real, glycerin-based soap, they’re hooked because glycerine, being a humectant, leaves the skin much more moisturized and fresh feeling. Something that many men, still curiously in 2010, find to be a touchy subject.

“It’s hilarious” says Cindy “I literally have to conduct business like a drug dealer with some of my clients. I have local customers insist that we talk in private and only communicate through text messages. And one of my better clients recently requested that we stop putting our customary bow on his wrapped soap and using a pink bag when delivering his order because he didn’t want to be found out.”
