(I-Newswire) August 16, 2010 - Walnut, Calif. — In support of overseas US troops, MEElectronics, manufacture of earphones with high-quality sound at affordable prices, is donating one M9 earphone for every special edition commemorative M9 purchased.

MEElectronics would like to recognize the American Service Members for their sacrifices and hardships endured in serving our country. The special edition commemorative M9 ($24.99 shipped within the US) is available in limited quantities at www.meelec.com. MEE is partnering with Operation Gratitude for distribution of the donated M9s, which will be distributed at the end of October. Operation Gratitude has delivered almost 560,000 care packages to date.

In an effort to determine the best affordable earphone and accessories for service men and women overseas, MEElectronics polled several people that served overseas. The consensus was the M9 would be great because of its award-winning sound, extreme durability and accessories, which include a clamshell case, extra ear tips, and wire organizer - perfect for conditions overseas. Many service members use iPods and other MP3 players regularly and upgraded headphones are always welcome and useful. The included clamshell case and wire organizer are great for keeping earphones protected. The M9 also comes standard with 5 sets of ear tips vs. 3 or fewer with most other earphones, so even if an ear tip is lost, the M9 is still usable.

About Operation Gratitude
Tens of thousands of American Service Members are deployed in hostile and remote regions of the world, including the Middle East, Afghanistan, and on ships throughout international waters. The physical conditions they must endure are difficult and they may be separated from loved ones for long periods of time.

Operation Gratitude seeks to lift morale and put smiles on faces by sending care packages addressed to individual Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines deployed overseas. Operation Gratitude care packages contain food, hygiene products, entertainment items and personal letters of appreciation, all wrapped with good wishes of love and support.

Through Collection Drives, Letter Writing Campaigns and Donations of funds for shipping expenses, Operation Gratitude provides civilians anywhere in America a way to express their respect and appreciation to the men and women of the U.S. Military in an active, hands-on manner.

Operation Gratitude is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, volunteer-based corporation, funded entirely by private donations. For safety and security, the assembling of all packages occurs at the Army National Guard Armory in Van Nuys, California.
