McCord’s Vancouver Toyota Prepares for Renovation

(I-Newswire) January 6, 2010 - (Vancouver, WA) – McCord’s Vancouver Toyota is excited for a new year – and a new look! The facility will be undergoing construction in the fourth quarter of 2010 with plans to enlarge the site and incorporate many unique features in the design and operation of the site and building.

Once construction is completed, the new Toyota facility will enlarge from 50,000 square feet to over 80,000 square feet on almost 16 acres. This will support new Toyota vehicle sales, certified and used vehicle sales, services, parts and accessories sales, and Toyota rentals.

Vancouver Toyota has registered with the United States Green Building Council for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Accreditation on the site and facility. Vancouver Toyota will be incorporating many unique features in the design and operation of the site and building. The overall site is designated as a “Sustainable Site.” 100% of storm water is handled on site and will not be connected to city, county or state storm water systems by utilizing permeable pavers for the vehicle storage and parking areas.

General Manager, Greg Leonard, states, “Once construction is complete, Vancouver Toyota will have the largest permeable paver site in the United States to date!” Vancouver Toyota is presently on track to be the 15th Toyota dealer in the nation to achieve LEED certification. With this certification Vancouver Toyota will be the first automotive dealership of any brand to achieve LEED certification in the state of Washington and the Portland-Vancouver area. Leonard believes the new facility design and location will “enhance the ability to ‘make it easy’ to do business with McCord’s Vancouver Toyota.”

Fortunately for Toyota shoppers, Vancouver Toyota is conducting business as normal during this construction. The site of the new facility is located directly south of the existing facilities. A grand opening date for the unveiling of the new facility will be scheduled at a later date.
