MAUSER Group, a worldwide leading company in industrial packaging, is looking confidently to the upcoming months. At the company’s 22nd International Know-How Conference for licensees and technology partners in September, MAUSER discussed

Bruehl (I-Newswire) October 9, 2012 - recent successes and upcoming trends in industrial packaging while presenting its latest Sustainability Report. According to Hans-Peter Schaefer, CEO of MAUSER Group, supporting customers on a global basis with sustainable and innovative packaging solutions remains the company’s stated aim.

This year’s MAUSER International Know-How Conference in Munich, Germany, was once again well-attended. MAUSER, as well as its partners and licensees from around the world, took the opportunity to exchange ideas and discuss upcoming trends. Since its beginning in the early 1970s, the bi-annual Know-How Conference hosted by MAUSER has developed into an acknowledged international expert exchange forum on the latest developments in packaging design, raw materials, standardization, legislation and life-cycle management.

Future: Characterized by Sustainability and Innovations
Hans-Peter Schaefer, Chief Executive Officer of MAUSER Group since February 2012, said, “The past twelve months have again been successful for MAUSER. Our results underline the success of MAUSER’s business strategy, which is to manage the entire life-cycle of industrial packaging solutions. Our customers are faced with volatile economic circumstances and need to rely on efficient solutions. They appreciate the possibility to combine ecological with economical advantages.”

The future objectives remain customer-oriented, as MAUSER continues to focus on sustainable and innovative packaging solutions. Recently MAUSER introduced a full, light-weight range of UN-approved plastic drums for the European market and several new equipment solutions in order to further optimize packaging according to customers’ needs.

New Sustainability Report Presented
As a globally active company in the industrial packaging industry, MAUSER believes that it has a special responsibility to society, the environment, and its customers. In presenting its 3rd annual Sustainability Report during the Know-How Conference, MAUSER openly communicated its 2011 sustainability achievements and latest steps in the company’s sustainability strategy. The report is in accordance with the guidelines of the Global Reporting Initiatives (GRI-G3) and can be downloaded from the MAUSER website at www.mausergroup.com/global/en/company/sustainability.3371.html.

Through acquisitions, greenfield investments and regional expansions, MAUSER has continued to strengthen its global position while broadening its product and service portfolio. Furthermore, MAUSER cemented the company’s “total recollect” strategy by expanding its steel drum collection capability. With its subsidiary National Container Group (NCG), MAUSER today operates a worldwide network of reconditioning plants and has increased the number of reconditioning locations from 21 to 28 during the last 18 months.

“Cost savings still are a critical driver for our customers when considering sustainable packaging solutions,” says Klaus-Peter Schmidt, Head of Global Product Development and Sustainability Management at MAUSER Group. “But we see that the environmental impact aspects are increasingly becoming solid arguments as well. With our ECO-CYCLE concept, we offer a full-cycle service for packaging solutions – always applied in close cooperation with our customers and partners to further optimize our products.“

MAUSER’s ECO-CYCLE approach is part of a comprehensive Sustainability Program initiated in 2009 and focuses on sustainable products and services. The ECO-CYCLE concept is based on the five pillars “Renew”, “Reduce”, “Recollect”, “Reuse”, and “Recycle” and comprises the entire supply chain – from production to recollection services to recycling of the products.

MAUSER: Prepared for the Future
MAUSER is a leading company in both the production and reconditioning of industrial packaging. Production of plastic packaging is the company’s largest business, followed by metal drums, IBCs, reconditioning services, fiber drums and machinery for packaging production. With its ECO-CYCLE concept and a healthy growth, MAUSER is well positioned for the future and able to meet the challenges of a volatile market in the different regions. The ambitions and objectives have already shown significant results.
