Mackin Educational Resources has created a special Disaster Relief Funds4Books donation program to raise funds to replace the destroyed Joplin, Missouri school library collections.

Burnsville, MN (I-Newswire) June 2, 2011 - In response to the devastating tornado that destroyed three Joplin, Missouri, schools on May 22, 2011, Mackin Educational Resources has created a special Disaster Relief Funds4Books donation program to help raise the funds needed to replace the destroyed school library collections.

Standing firm on its “We Really Do Care” motto, Mackin will also contribute an additional 10% to every $100 raised. “Our heart goes out to the Joplin area as they suffer the loss of community members and widespread devastation,” said Randal Heise, Mackin president. “We hope the Funds4Books program and the goodwill of the nation will provide some comfort.”

With Funds4Books, 100% of all donations are for the school or library to spend on books, ebooks, DVDs, audiobooks, online subscriptions and more. Mackin also prepares the books to be shelf-ready and ships all materials free of charge ensuring schools get the most value from their donations.

The Joplin Funds4Books program was created in partnership with the Missouri Association of School Librarians. Individuals who would like to help Joplin schools restore their library collections can donate at: www.Funds4Books.com. For more information, call Mackin at 800-245-9540.

Hundreds of schools nationally have utilized Mackin’s Funds4Books online donation program to obtain needed funding for high-quality reading materials, including Wadena-Deer Creek High School in Minnesota, which was destroyed by a tornado in 2010 and successfully raised more than $20,000 with the Mackin Funds4Books program.
