Luxury Barber-Turned-Comedian Offering Free Haircuts For Charity Challenge

Atlanta, GA (I-Newswire) November 17, 2011 - ATLANTA, GA—Atlanta-based luxury barber-turned-comedian, Marcus Harvey, is on a mission to raise money for charity with a new YouTube web series, "Cuttin Up with Marcus Harvey," in which he's challenging all of America to see if they can sit in his chair for a haircut or trim—without laughing.

If they can outlast Marcus with a straight face, the cut is free. But if they laugh—and so far, they always laugh—the proceeds are donated to a chosen charity or non-profit organization.

"Laughter's a powerful thing, it moves people," said Marcus Harvey, "I hope everybody likes the YouTube show, because the more laughs we get, the more money we can raise to help some great causes."

Next Tuesday, November 22nd, Marcus will be hosting a fundraiser event while taping a new episode of his show at the offices of advertising agency, JWT Atlanta, and media company, Mindshare Atlanta, in Buckhead. All proceeds from the event will be donated to Movember Foundation, a charity dedicated to growing mustaches as a way to raise funds and awareness for men's health issues—specifically cancer—during the month of November.

Marcus Harvey is a luxury barber-turned-comedian living in Atlanta, GA. He began his stand-up comedy career in 2005, and since then, he's performed his unique blend of verbal humor and physical comedy at venues across the nation.
