Lung-cell Inflammation Can Be Caused Due to Incense

London (I-Newswire) August 8, 2013 - (http://www.kamagramart.com) : Burning incense generates indoor air pollutants that may induce inflammation in human lung cells. Incense smoke is associated with a number of health problems, including eye, throat, nose, and skin irritation; respiratory symptoms, consisting of asthma, headaches, aggravation of cardiovascular disease; and variations in lung-cell structure.
Indoor air pollution is an international health concern. It evaluates that more than 1 million people a year die from chronic obstructive respiratory disease (COPD), mainly an outcome of exposure to pollutants from cook stoves and open hearths. Burning incense emits similar pollutants, consisting carbon monoxide.
In the current study, the researchers recognized and measured the particles and gases released from two kinds of incense. The testing was done over three hours, the exemplary timeframe during which incense is burned, in a peculiarly designed indoor environmental chamber with a concentration of smoke. They analyzed both particulate concentrations and levels of gases such as sulfur dioxide, carbon monoxide, oxides of formaldehyde and nitrogen.
Human lung cells were placed in the chamber to reveal them to the smoke, and then incubated for 24 hours to permit particulates to settle and the cells to respond. The outcoming inflammatory response, a mark of asthma and other respiratory problems, was analogous to that of lung cells exposed to cigarette smoke.
Researchers discovered that both types of incense released significant amounts of particles, formaldehyde, carbon monoxide, and oxides of nitrogen, resulting in the cellular inflammatory response. They also recommended implementing better ventilation in homes when incense is burned, such as opening window or a door to mend air flow. They also recommended using other options to charcoal, including electric combustion devices.
