Low Cost Alternative to Expensive Training Management Software Now Available

Human resources software company Business Performance P/L today announced the new release of their economical alternative to complex training management systems.

(I-Newswire) April 19, 2010 - Melbourne, Australia – The training management software market is saturated with highly complex, expensive and difficult to learn administration systems. Up till now, small businesses and single departments in larger organizations have not been well served. This week, Business Performance P/L answered their call with the release of the new version of their popular Training Tracker software.

Training Tracker is designed to benefit anyone who needs to track training economically and efficiently. The Director of Business Performance P/L, Vicki Heath, explained, “In these difficult times, organizations are struggling to make ends meet and the spend on training has nosedived. Small business owners just don’t have the funds to spend thousands of dollars on a sophisticated training database. Nor will they use more than a fraction of the features in these expensive training administration systems. The same goes for single departments within larger organizations. Our Training Tracker provides a very low cost but highly functional alternative to these overblown software packages.”

A key benefit of Training Tracker is that it is built around Microsoft Excel. Customers will avoid the need to learn a new interface. Heath added, “Working with Training Tracker is like working with any other Microsoft Excel workbook, only more powerful. It’s like Microsoft Excel on steroids. Many people with varying success have played around with Microsoft Excel’s formulae, PivotTable and Charts features in an effort to cobble together a training administration system. We have taken the best of Microsoft Excel and put together a coherent, highly functional and error resistant database that anyone can use.”

Version 2.0 of the software brings some highly significant enhancements. These include a new style interface, improved navigation, more stable reports, new reports and charts, a data migration wizard and import template, improved data protection and error handling and guidance on customizing reminders and warning flags.

The new version also introduces a data migration wizard. The new wizard takes all the trouble out of importing the company’s human resources data into Training Tracker and exporting it into another workbook. Customers upgrading from a previous version of Training Tracker can also now transfer their data into the new version easily and very quickly.

Training Tracker’s report generation and handling is much improved from previous versions. Customers can now produce more and better reports and charts at the click of a button. These include reports displaying participant activity, expenditure by department or training provider, training hours by department, trainer or training provider and more. It will also track and report training outcomes, results and purchase status. If a report is not exactly as required, the customer can tailor any report or chart to their liking or even create new reports and charts.

The latest version also includes a facility for easily copying a training report or chart to another program or document. So, for example, a human resources administrator who produces a monthly expenditure report to the management team in a Microsoft Word document can now copy the Training Tracker expenditure report table and chart with one click.

Training Tracker is supplied complete with a comprehensive 51 page User Guide, Quick Start Guide and import template for importing data from other databases. Customers can also download a free trial version of Training Tracker. The trial version allows customers to try out all of the features and functions on a sample company database. Training Tracker and the free trial version are available for download from the Business Performance P/L website at www.businessperform.com/training-tracker
