Long Beach Hotel, Mauritius Wins Luxury Award

The Long Beach Hotel, the contemporary and stylish luxury resort in Mauritius has won the "Luxury Family Hotel" accolade at the World Luxury Hotel Awards, which took place in Phuket, Thailand.

The World Luxury Hotel Awards complimented the Long Beach Hotel by stating "Long Beach has exceptional service in its 5 theme restaurants; signature drinks at its concept bars; comfortable, fresh and amazing rooms make this new accomplished resort a home away from home for its privileged guests."

The Long Beach hotel has Italian influences, with rooms focused around a central piazza-style outdoor living space. The resort is purpose built to lessen the impact of the development on the environment, which is surrounded by azure waters that are teaming with marine wildlife and rare coral species.

Every hotel that is considered for such an award must offer a blend of friendly service and professional efficiency. The Long Beach Hotel provides a unique opportunity to enjoy luxury without the starchiness of traditional services.

"We are proud to have been crowned 'Best Hotel' for Mauritius, a destination that is full of prestigious institutions and recognised luxury hotel brands. I am pleased for my passionate and professional team in receiving this award, "said Vladimir Scanu, General Manager of Long Beach.

The 2013 World Luxury Hotels Awards is a competition with stringent criteria and exacting standards. They focus on hotels, lodges and resorts and reward the best in the sector for their quality of service. The voters are selected from a variety of tour operators, travel agents and customers. In this way their key verdicts offer the industry transparency that will in turn benefit the hotels.

"We believe that excellent service is the most crucial factor to a luxury hotel." said Marinique Wet, Director of Luxury World Hotel Awards. "Those who have won a World Luxury Hotel Award can compete with major players in the sector and thus be required to go further in the standards of service to exceed customer expectations."

Nicolas de Chalain, Chief Sales Officer of Sun Resorts is understandably pleased by this opportunity to enhance the reputation of the hotel and to bring more attention to the island of Mauritius. He was also General Manager at the hotel so he speaks from experience when he suggested:

"Today's travellers look for excellent value, impeccable service and the highest standards of quality in making their travel choice. Winning a World Luxury Hotel Award will help Long Beach to position itself as a resort celebrating exclusivity and uniqueness, indicators that truly define a luxury hotel."

The architects who designed Long Beach were more than aware that this type of build had not been seen in Mauritius before. The hotel has a unique, cosmopolitan outlook, a refreshing colour palette and it sits beautifully within the lush, tropical landscape of Mauritius.
