Dr. M. Andrew Baber, of Horizon Dental Implant Center in Rogers, Ark., introduces a revolutionary new dental implant technology to Northwest Arkansas residents. This new technology gives patients the ability to avoid removable dentures and to restore their smiles with this efficient implant procedure. Many denture wearers are embarrassed to smile because of ill-fitting dentures or have trouble chewing the foods they enjoy.
This new procedure is called All-on-Four® and gets its name because four dental implants are placed within the jaw and a full arch of teeth is attached. Temporary teeth are attached on the day of surgery. Denture patients, or those with teeth in such bad condition that they will need dentures, can walk out of the office the same day with fully functional, firmly attached, beautiful teeth that are fixed in places and are non-removable. Delivery of final restoration does require multiple visits.
Dr. Baber is very excited to offer this procedure because it can be life-changing. "Being an oral and maxillofacial surgeon is very meaningful to me because I have the opportunity, particularly with the All-on-Four® dental implant treatment, to help a patient become the best version of themselves", said Dr. M. Andrew Baber.
Denture patients or those with teeth in such bad condition that they will need dentures can now receive fully functional, firmly attached, beautiful teeth that are fixed in place and non-removable. Rhonda Hollingshad, who recently "ditched her denture" said, "I feel more confident with these. They are secure and you just don't have to worry about it. I have friends that told me that I look younger!"
The All-On-4® procedure gives patients who previously would have needed extensive bone grafting or dentures a simpler option because it introduces implants without the use of bone grafting. Even patients who may have been previously told they are not a candidate for dental implants due to advanced bone loss are often able to be treated using the All-on-4® technique with predictable success, according to the Horizon Dental Implant Center.
Dr. Baber has been practicing oral surgery since 2007. He earned his doctoral degree in dentistry at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, College of Dentistry in Memphis. After that, he spent four years completing his oral and maxillofacial surgery training at Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center in Richmond.
