Lineup Announced for Silicon Valley Rocks!; Benefit Event for 'Music in Schools Today'

(I-Newswire) October 28, 2008 - San Francisco, CA – Today, Silicon Valley Rocks! announced the lineup for its first annual music showcase event. Featured bands include musicians from Intel, Cisco, The Wall Street Journal, Flixster, MusicIP, Jaman, Walden VC, Norwest Venture Partners, and other tech firms and companies from around the Bay Area.

The Silicon Valley Rocks! benefit event will raise money for Music in Schools Today (MuST), a Bay Area non-profit that seeks to rescue school music programs from budget cuts. The event will also feature a silent auction for items like signed guitars, hotel packages, software, and more.

"Silicon Valley Rocks! has generated an enormous amount of enthusiasm," says Alison Murdock, founder of Silicon Valley Rocks!. "People are excited to network in a way that's different from an industry conference or party. Live music is always a great way to bring people together."

Event tickets include entry to all of the evening's festivities, including the showcase concert and silent auction. The night will conclude at an after-party, with drinks, DJs, and dancing.
