Lily Organics Founder, Lily Morgan, Receives Award

Henderson, CO (I-Newswire) May 17, 2011 - Lily Cohill Morgan of Lily Farm Fresh Skin Care (Lily Organics) is being honored by the Senior Assistance Center (SAC), formerly The Association for Senior Citizens, on May 19th, 2011 at the Marriott Denver Tech Center. The fundraising luncheon, free to attend, will be held from 11:30am – 1pm where Morgan will be honored for not only founding the organization, but for all of the hard work and efforts she has made over the past 29 years to change the lives of Denver Metro Seniors.

What started as a young 22 year old girl’s pain, seeing seniors searching dumpsters for food, turned into an organization that has provided over one million acts of kindness to Colorado’s poorest older citizens. Not only did Morgan help raise over $10million for the SAC, she even went so far to put her own home up as collateral, 20 years ago, in order for the organization to buy their own building, after being turned down by over 15 different banks. When there wasn’t enough money to pay both her and help the seniors, she went without pay. All of this was done by Morgan to help maintain the SAC’s main goal of getting seniors back on their feet.

The Senior Assistance Center will be presenting Lily with an award and would like to thank her for her dedication through the years. “She created an amazing and sustaining organization through good times and bad,” states Carol Johnson, Executive Director, SAC. “Lily built a staff of loyal and dedicated people, who are seniors themselves, to help our clients maintain an independent lifestyle for as long as possible.” “Personally, I don’t even have the words to describe how much appreciation I have for what Lily has done.” Johnson said. Carol Johnson, long time volunteer and board member, took over the role of Executive Director in 2009 after Lily left to pursue her other passion - to be a USDA Certified Organic grower and create her all-natural skin care line, Lily Farm Fresh Skin Care.
