LG Optimus 3D - The First 3D Smartphone

Bournemouth (I-Newswire) July 7, 2011 - Not only is the Optimus 3D one of the fastest smartphones on the market to date, it is also the first to feature 3D technology. Featuring 'tri-dual' technology, the Optimus 3D has a dual-core processor, dual-core channels and dual-core memory. This makes for extremely smooth navigation and seamless multi-tasking - no more device lags.

The speed and power that the Optimus 3D offers are overshadowed somewhat by its 3D capabilities. Not only can a user watch 3D content and play 3D games (without the use of glasses), he or she also has the ability to record homemade 3D videos. This video content, shot with the dual 5 Megapixel autofocus cameras, can then be uploaded to an LG YouTube channel dedicated to 3D content.

As for playing back 3D content, the 4.3", stereoscopic display of the Optimus 3D does the job superbly. The capacitive touch screen is slick to the touch and features a 480 x 800 resolution and 16 million colours. LG is set to offer a range of free downloadable 3D content via LG World and free software for converting 2D games is due for release in the third quarter of 2011.

Besides its 3D attributes and powerhouse internals, the Optimus 3D still has plenty more to offer. It runs on the Android 2.2 FroYo Operating System (Upgradeable to 2.3 Gingerbread soon after release) and has the hardware features to complement its Google-owned software. Bluetooth, DLNA, Wi-Fi, 3G and HDMI port offer all the connectivity options one could want, while 8GB internal storage and microSD slot offer plenty of space to save all those 3D videos.

Some last minute changes to the Optimus 3D have made its release even more exciting. The handset comes with three free Gameloft game titles, with a further fourteen available for paid download. A tweak to the handset has also seen the camera's capabilities upgraded to 1080p recording at 30fps, as opposed to the 24fps recording that was expected.
