REDWOOD CITY, Calif. (March 12, 2010) – LearnComputer! is offering a number of new computer training courses for individuals, small businesses and corporations.

One of the most exciting additions to LearnComputer!’s roster is the Android Application Development class, slated for May 10-14. The five-day boot camp will provide essential skills and hands-on experience at developing applications on the Android mobile application platform. During the course, students will learn to develop a real-life application that can serve as the base for their future Android projects. The engaging Android class will be taught by Guy Cole, a freelance designer/developer with extensive industry experience and the author of a growing list of Android and iPhone applications. The class—which will be limited to 15 students—will encourage open discussions, questions and personal-experience examples.

The Android class is ideal for anyone who wants to obtain a solid understanding of what Android is and how to develop applications using Android as the platform. Android is a mobile operating system that uses a modified version of the Linux kernel. It allows developers to write managed code in the Java language, controlling the mobile device via Google-developed Java libraries. More than a dozen types of cell phones worldwide use Android, including the popular Motorola Droid, HTC Hero and Motorola Cliq. Android apps help users get the most from their phones and are available in a variety of categories, including fun, games, music, video and productivity.

In addition to offering the new Android class, LearnComputer! conducts computer training courses in the areas of computer programming, Web development, database, and networking with specific emphasis on network technologies, Java programming, mobile frameworks, Linux, MySQL and PHP (LAMP). The classes are designed to provide students with practical experience that they can utilize in a real-world, professional environment. “Our in-depth, hands-on computer training courses include the development of a real-life software product to hone skills learned in a classroom,” said Alex Rozenfeld, a partner with LearnComputer! “The courses are based on the up-to-date technologies utilized by today’s Silicon Valley.”

To ensure the highest possible standards, LearnComputer!’s classes are taught by high-caliber instructors who are well versed on their respective course material. “They must have practical industry experience, as well as classroom teaching experience,” Rozenfeld explained.

The company also strives to deliver high-quality computer training courses at highly-competitive prices. “We understand that not everyone has the deep pockets for multi-thousand-dollar courses,” Rozenfeld said. “This is why we offer some of the most affordable courses on the market.”

LearnComputer! holds its computer training courses at a state-of-the-art facility in the San Francisco Bay Area. All classes include a full set of training materials and software, as well as complimentary breakfast and lunch. Discounts are provided for early registration, multi registration and unemployment/hardship situations.
