Intense efforts to rescue and extend immediate aid to the victims of the typhoon are now underway

(I-Newswire) September 30, 2009 - Gawad Kalinga, a group dedicated to nation building and poverty alleviation has joined forces with online business solutions company Voncore and social awareness group Tuloy Pnoy to promote ketsanarelief.com, a site completely dedicated for emergency relief efforts for the victims of International typhoon Ketsana. International typhoon Ketsana, locally known as typhoon Ondoy, tore through the greater portion of Luzon in the Philippines on Saturday morning, September 26, 2009, leaving a wake of devastation estimated to be roughly $100 billion, and killing at least 95 people, and affecting at least 247,555 Filipinos.

Intense efforts to rescue and extend immediate aid to the victims of the typhoon are now underway, with the typhoon statistics expected to increase even more as more people are being rescued from where they were stranded by the flood waters from the incessant rains brought by the typhoon. Gawad Kalinga, along with Voncore and Tuloy Pnoy, has pooled in their efforts and resources to comprehensively coordinate efforts to give emergency aid in the form of donations, relief goods, and rehabilitation efforts to those who need it the most, primarily through the site www.ketsanarelief.com. Both victims of the typhoon and volunteers seeking to extend their aid and support can get coordination and guidance from the site, which will feature updates, images, videos, and statistics regarding all efforts being done to aid the victims of International typhoon Ketsana.

Victims of the typhoon needing medical aid, food, water, clothing, or have other concerns such as missing relatives can go to www.ketsanareleif.com and post their concerns, where it can then be relayed to the appropriate agency or group that can handle the particular need. Volunteers who would like to help the victims of the typhoon can also go to the site to see where their aid or support can do the most good.

Gawad Kalinga is a non-profit nation building and poverty alleviation group dedicated to improving the lives of Filipinos everywhere by providing them with a decent home and a progressive community to live in. Voncore is a privately-owned full service online business solutions company with offices in the Philippines and in New Jersey, USA. Tuloy Pnoy is a non-profit organization dedicated to social awareness and concerns of Senator Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III.
