Leadership Maryland, a significant statewide leadership program in the United States, chooses Interstate Container Cambridge General Manager for Leadership Maryland Class of 2013.

Maryland (I-Newswire) March 1, 2013 - Leadership Maryland chooses Pete Bugas, Interstate Container Cambridge General Manager, to partake in a yearlong program that discusses current pressing issues, obstacles, and opportunities the state and its diverse regions face.

ANNAPOLIS, MD – Peter A. Bugas, General Manager, Interstate Container Cambridge, has been selected for the Leadership Maryland Class of 2013. Bugas, a resident of Salisbury, is one of 52 accomplished and talented Maryland leaders selected to participate in the eight-month program. Leadership Maryland is one of 34 state leadership programs nationwide and has graduated over 900 statewide leaders.

“The participants represent a broad spectrum of highly qualified executives from an extraordinary group of statewide applicants,” said Nancy Minieri, founding president and CEO of Leadership Maryland. “After participating in a comprehensive range of experiences during this milestone anniversary year, these leaders will serve as important participants in the unified effort to shape Maryland’s future.”

Following a two-day opening retreat in April, participants will attend five two-day, and one one-day intense sessions focusing on issues, such as, economic development, education, health and human services, criminal and juvenile justice, environment, and multiculturalism/diversity. More than 100 top experts representing business, government, education, and the non-profit community will serve as panelists and guest speakers.

Founded in 1992, Leadership Maryland is an independent, educational, non-profit organization designed to inform top-level executives, from the public and private sectors, about the critical issues, challenges and opportunities facing the state of Maryland and its regions.
