Lakeway Regional Medical Center executives, local Realtors, and Lake Travis High School Superintendent to host forum discussing the impact the new hospital will have on the community.

Austin (I-Newswire) October 26, 2011 - On Tuesday, November 1st from 7 to 9 PM, the Renner Team at Keller Williams Lake Travis Market Center will be hosting the Lakeway Regional Medical Center Forum. There will be several speakers including David Kreye, CEO of the Lakeway Regional Medical Center, Susan Bohn, Superintendent (Interim) of Lake Travis Independent School District, Ross Frie of Keller Williams Commercial, and Kenn Renner of Keller Williams Lake Travis Residential. The forum will focus on the economic impact to the Lakeway community including jobs, housing, schools, employment and traffic impact.

Mr. Kreye will be discussing the progress of the new hospital, which is scheduled to open in the May of 2012. The $200 million hospital will open with 106 beds and several hundred employees. The hospital will be nine stories and host a Level 3 trauma center with a helipad and ambulance bays next to its emergency rooms. The medical center will be extremely high tech with state of the art equipment including high definition monitors, vacuum tube systems to carry blood work and other materials and more than $26 million in medical equipment in the first phase.

Lake Travis Independent School District interim superintendent Sharon Bohn will be speaking on the impact of student population growth and the upcoming school bond election.

Real estate expert Kenn Renner of Keller Williams Lake Travis Residential will be discussing the impact on the housing market in Lakeway and surrounding areas including the looming rental shortage. “There is currently less than a 2 months supply of rental properties in the general area,” Kenn explained, “with hundreds of new residents coming all at once, it could be a real challenge to find them all housing.” He will also discuss potential residential investment opportunities and the use of self directed IRA LLCs as a vehicle for purchasing residential real estate. “Lack of supply means higher rents and better return on investments,” Kenn added. Guest speaker Ross Frie, director Keller Williams Commercial, will be discussing commercial rents and occupancy rates, trends and forecasts, and upcoming development projects.

This is a public forum and all are invited. Seating is limited to the first 60 people; however there will be an opportunity to watch the forum live via the web on a live stream webcast.
