U.S.A’s Olympic Gold Medalist Lynnette Love Touches The Heart Of Many: Reveals To South Korea How The Country’s Culture And Art Form Made A Difference In Her Life

Los Angeles (I-Newswire) September 20, 2011 - Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) featured The World Champion Tae Kwon Do practitioner during the network’s regular news broadcast on Saturday, September 17th. The Korean based network broadcasts throughout South Korea. MBC America, a division of MBC, broadcasts the network within the U.S. and airs to subscribers on Verizon, Cox and Comcast cable networks.

“I was informed about Lynnette Love's story through a colleague, and believed the story to be newsworthy to the South Korean citizens.” says Mr. Hoin Rhee, Washington, D.C. based reporter for the network. “Taekwondo is the national sport of South Korea. Also, Lynnette Love's story is very interesting because she is an American who won the gold medal in Taekwondo when the Olympics were held in South Korea.” Rhee explained that he wanted to show the influence of Taekwondo in the United States, and how many other cultures are participating in the sport. Also, the fact that a movie is being made about her story is of significant interest. The story can be viewed at:

Already viewers have posted comments expressing their interest in Love’s story. “I just watched Master Lynnette Love on TV 9pm news (most-watched TV news in Korea) (Sat., Sep. 17). She is a legend & a great role model for children. Best wishes to her & her movie!” commented Kim In LosAngeles.

Love is known for her competitive career before and during the 1988 Olympic Games. She put Detroit, Michigan on the world map by winning three World Championships, two Olympic Medals, 10 US National Championships and 5 Pan American titles.

The most decorated athlete in Tae Kwon Do history, to date, no other female practitioner has beat her record. In 1991, the United States Olympic Committee named Ms. Love Female Athlete of the year for all sports.
