Kleinfelder Hires Larry VandeVenter As Vice President

Respected water treatment expert to provide technical leadership to government clients

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (I-Newswire) January 23, 2013 - Kleinfelder, a global architecture, engineering and science consulting firm, has hired Larry VandeVenter as a vice president for the firm’s water market practice. He brings more than 30 years of water treatment experience on an array of large-scale government projects, both nationally and internationally.

In his new position, VandeVenter will act as a senior technical advisor for the firm’s potable water treatment projects in addition to overseeing business development efforts with major government clients. He will be based out of the firm’s Cambridge, Mass., office.

“Larry’s accomplishments in the field of water treatment speak for themselves,” said Anthony Zuena, water market manager at Kleinfelder. “His proven ability to conceptualize, design and develop complex water treatment processes made him the ideal candidate to help deliver the innovative solutions our municipal clients have come to expect from us.”

VandeVenter is a recognized expert in topics including membrane separation technologies, desalination, coagulation, high-rate clarification, filtration, ozonation, reuse, disinfection and control of disinfection by-products. He is well-respected in the industry, having authored more than 55 technical papers, many of which have garnered awards from organizations including the New England Water Works Association (NEWWA) and the Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management (CIWEM). He is also an active contributor to many WateReuse Association (WRA) and American Water Works Association (AWWA) committees and was the primary author of the treatment chapter of AWWA’s Desalination of Seawater Manual of Water Supply Practices (M61).

Prior to joining Kleinfelder, VandeVenter owned VandeVenter Consulting LLC, and previously served as vice president and water treatment technical practice director at AECOM. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated a strong track record of building trust with municipal and government clients.
