“King Original” – Finally Released A Beautifully Designed "Old" Card Game

Moscow (I-Newswire) January 15, 2012 - Studio “65Gb Software” has launched their own version of the classical card game “King Original” for iPhone. As the name suggests the rules of the game are traditional, however beautiful intuitive design and smooth animation makes a great game experience. There are three levels of complexity available, which are ciphered as Jack, Dame and King. The user can also choose between three background themes. The game is available in 2 languages, English and Russian.

If you are new to King, the game will teach you rules step by step and introduce the terminology. Those who have some experience of playing King just need to enter their name before they start to enjoy this fascinating design and animation.

King is usually played by four people with the deck of 36 cards without sixes. There are two stages in the game. At the first stage the players receive only penalties, at the second – they have the chance to win back. Each player is dealt 8 cards. The game is played clockwise, the players need to follow suit whenever possible. The player with the highest final positive balance wins.

The game is known and played in various parts of the world, it is particularly popular in Portugal, Russia, Turkey, Colombia and Brazil. In all these places it is known under the English name “King”, although t can have some local variants as well. The game is believed to originate from England, though there have been found no evidence of that. Thus, it is quite a mystery why the game bears an English name and how it has come to be popular in such widely separated parts of the world.
