Kids Win: New Website Puts Teachers and Parents On Same Page

TeacherNannies.org, a nationwide service connecting teachers with parents seeking to enhance the education and development of their child. Parents now have an online resource to find tutors, homeschool help or a summer nanny with a teaching component

(I-Newswire) June 2, 2010 - June 1, 2010 – TeacherNannies.org, a nationwide internet matching service, has created a powerful new resource for teachers, parents and kids. The new website allows teachers who are interested in summer, full or part-time work to create and post a profile for free. Parents who are looking for a tutor, nanny, special needs or homeschool help can then conduct a free search on the site to see mini-bios of potential candidates. To contact candidates or to post a job on the site, parents pay just $10.00 for a one month subscription.

In light of recent school budget cuts and resulting teacher layoffs, teachers’ need for additional income is greater than ever. "We've had tremendous response from teachers that are interested in supplementing their income, or they've recently received a letter that they're not going to have their contract renewed this year" said TeacherNannies creator Christine Parker, herself a former teacher.

It’s a win for parents and kids too. As class sizes grow larger and “Non-essential” or summer classes are removed from a school’s curriculum, TeacherNannies.org provides the resource for parents to find the individualized instruction they desire for their child. Learning Spanish, catching up in Math, or overall enrichment can be just a click away.

“As a former teacher, and as a parent with a college student studying to be a teacher, I felt compelled to do my part to help the education system, in terms of helping teachers find employment in their chosen profession, while helping parents fill the educational needs of their children. Educate, Nurture, Inspire... that's our motto" said Christine Parker.

Christine Parker graduated from the College of Education at Grand Canyon University in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education. Christine founded TeacherNannies.org in March, 2010.
