Kids Build Robotic Bugs to Cure Juvenile Diabetes

(I-Newswire) October 12, 2005 - Children's Technology Workshop and LEGO� Store of Bridgewater will be cooperatively hosting two free Build-a-Bug workshops, during which children between ages 7 and 13 create motorized LEGO based mechanical inchworms, inside the LEGO Store in Bridgewater Commons on October 22 and 29, 2005, between 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM. The store will be giving $5 LEGO gift cards to all workshop participants. Children's Technology Workshop will be raising money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation through these workshops and
contributions by participants will be gratefully accepted, though not required to participate in the event.

Mark Noble, the Regional Director of Children's Technology Workshop, sees these promotional
workshops as a win for everyone involved. "The kids participating in these workshops have a blast while learning some mechanical engineering concepts and gaining confidence to continue to explore and be creative with LEGO products on their own. Meanwhile, parents realizing the value of the programming their children are receiving at no cost will feel good about the opportunity to contribute whatever they can afford to help find a cure for Juvenile Diabetes, a disease that dramatically alters the lives of thousands of children every year."

The promotional workshops represent an unveiling of Children's Technology Workshop and LEGO Store of Bridgewater's strategic partnership to bring fun and educational technology programming to the children of central New Jersey. Starting early next year, the two companies have plans to begin offering, in-store, eight week Saturday morning technology camp programs in which kids will explore,
invent and create with robotics & engineering, animation, graphic design and video game creation.
