Kirloskar Institute of Advanced Management Studies (KIAMS) will be hosting its fifteenth Convocation Ceremony on 29th of March and it promises to be a spectacular event. It's a big day for the PGDM batch of 2014 as they bid goodbye to their exciting, formative years as management students and enter the professional world. This day, the students step on the solid platform created by their institute and launch their careers, taking a big step towards a successful future.
To mark the occasion and celebrate the day, the organizing team has taken all the effort to ensure that it turns out to be an extravaganza, with everyone having a good time. The proceedings will begin at 11 am on the D Day with the Convocation procession entering the venue on the institute's Pune campus. Invitees have been asked to take their seats by 10.30 am to ensure that things run smoothly and on time. The event is expected to have a huge turnout as the President of the institute, the Director, faculty members and parents come out to support the new graduates.
One of the highlights of the event is the presence of Chief Guest Mrs. Lalita D. Gupte. Mrs. Gupte is the Chairperson, ICICI Venture Funds Management Company Limited, and her Convocation address is what many in the audience will be looking forward to. But before that, the Director of the institute will present the Academic report for the year that gave KIAMS a lot to cheer about. The institute maintained its consistent A+++ ranking with Business India, while managing to improve its rank to 22nd amongst the Top 50 B Schools in the country according to Career Connect.
2013 was also the year when the institute followed a new initiative to integrate all the first-year students in Harihar campus for half a year, and the second-year students in Pune campus for the same corresponding period. It created a win-win situation for students, as first-year students had an opportunity to bond over industry readiness, while second-year students could leverage their Pune location for placements. And the results showed during the placement process - many top names like CRISIL, Idea Cellular, SBI Life Insurance, L&T Infotech made their presence felt on campus.
There are several other initiatives, including Pragati and Operacy, that were meant to enhance the overall growth of students and to make them industry ready. KIAMS also managed to offer its students relevant industry exposure, which will come handy in their professional journeys. And, of course, they will be equipped with the PG Diploma Certificates that will be presented to them by the Chief Guest. The President will then award medals to respective students and commend them for their praiseworthy achievements.
With the end of the event, guests will have a chance to interact with each other to share their experiences.
