Key West Wedding Venues Rising to Increased Demand

As more couples are combining their wedding, reception and honeymoon into one big destination wedding, Key West is becoming a number one choice, thanks to the island's ever-growing profile in the world of hospitality.

Key West, already the number two location for destination weddings in the United States, is quickly giving the number one location, Las Vegas, a run for their money. With a focus on fine dining and a curious attention to detail, couples are discovering that the Florida Keys present the best of both worlds: a sophisticated and memorable event amidst the backdrop of laid-back, tropical ambience. Recently ranked as one of the top spots to get married in Florida by a national trade magazine, Roof Top Cafe has raised the bar for what soon-to-be-wed couples can expect, and the 2013-14 wedding season promises to be no different.

"We know that there are plenty of Key West wedding venues that will meet the expectations of couples, especially because of our beautiful island location," event coordinator, Jessica Gross, recently expressed to a group of travel writers, "Even though Roof Top Cafe's location and layout is one of the most desirable on the island, we have chosen to elevate our game, so that our wedding parties have their expectations exceeded every step of the way."

The new option introduced this year was nothing less ambitious than a new menu selection featuring items available only for wedding receptions. "We want to make sure our destination wedding parties feel as special as possible," Executive Chef, Brendan Orr states emphatically. "Offering locally sourced seafood presented in unique and creative ways is just one of our 'small touch' options that add to the memorability of such a once-in-a-lifetime event."

Already known for serving Key Wests best crab cakes and key lime pie, their new menu items are quickly catching the attention of both food critics and wedding planners. Classically trained in Paris, Chef Brendan Orr returned to his Florida roots and spent several years perfecting his island style cuisine before becoming Executive Chef when the Roof Top Cafe opened under new ownership nearly a decade ago.

With Key West weddings quickly becoming the number one choice for destination weddings in the United States, it comes as no surprise that Key West restaurants, such as the Roof Top Cafe, are rising to the occasion.
