For the third time, Red Barn Theatre in Key West, Florida plays host to a comedy workshop taught by internationally renowned comedian and actor Eddie Sarfaty. Success with the workshops in 2007 and 2010 has the theater and the comedian excited to hold the comedy classes once again beginning November 25, 2013.

A part of the groundbreaking comedy troupe, "Funny Gay Males," Sarfaty is familiar with the Key West, Florida theater, having performed at the Red Barn Theatre several times with the troupe since its beginning in 1992. In addition, the comedian has been a featured performer at Montreal's "Just for Laughs" Comedy Festival, has appeared on "The Tonight Show," "The Joy Behar Show" and is one of the subjects examined in the documentary "Laughing Matters." Called a "comedic genius" by the Huffington Post and "Polished...with the one-liners ricocheting off the walls!" by Bay Windows, the seasoned comedian and actor will not only host group classes, providing opportunity to workshop and develop material, but will also offer one on one, individual coaching.

Classes will be held on the development of comedy writing, the craft of joke writing and performance, in addition to studies of classic, comic icons such as Richard Pryor, Joan Rivers, Woody Allen, Bob Newhart and Lily Tomlin. The emphasis of the Key West, Florida comedy workshop is the development of a unique comedic character based on the student's personal opinion, experience and relationships.

"I was involved in the 2010 workshop," said one up and coming, local comic. "I learned a great deal about who I am and how to translate that into a stand-up act. I wouldn't miss this opportunity if you fancy yourself funny."

The two week workshop ends with a collaborative comedy show at the Red Barn Theatre featuring the performance of the workshop students with Eddie Sarfaty on December 6, 2013.
