Karl Charity Finds His Voice In Exciting New Jazz Act

Karl Charity, jazz trumpeter and singer, is touring jazz venues around London accompanied by his trio.

London-based international jazz musician, Karl Charity, is set to hit the capital's vibrant live music circuit after passionate reviews of his vocal talents persuaded the trumpet player to pick up the microphone.

Tipped by Jazz FM as 'one of the hottest prospects on the London Jazz scene', Karl Charity is an accomplished musician renowned for his slick trumpet style. Blessed also with a smooth singing voice Charity has announced a series of vocal performances, accompanied by his band, which features John Bailey (piano), Mark Allis (drums) and Shura Greenberg (bass).

"I am a trumpet player and I love it, but I am a singer at heart." says Charity, who has been expanding his songbook after positive feedback to performances at open mic nights, leading one critic to describe his voice as 'seriously mellow'. "The response to my vocal performances has really inspired me," he says.

A passionate aficionado of the jazz classics, Charity is becoming a man in demand. He lists his influences as Jobim, Cole Porter, Andy Williams, Nat King Cole, Diana Krall and especially Chet Baker. "His singing style has always made a huge impression on me. The way he combined voice and trumpet was unique," says Charity.

Karl Charity is currently performing at the popular Horse Bar on Westminster Bridge Road, the Tea Box in Richmond and the Colour House Theatre in South London. His next appearance is at the Toulouse-Lautrec restaurant in Kennington on Friday 23rd. For more details, visit Karl Charity's Facebook page: www.facebook.com/karl.charity.
