Justice Is Mind Announces Canadian Science Fiction Convention Premiere
VCON, Vancouver's premiere science fiction and fantasy convention, will screen Justice Is Mind on October 5, 2013. VCON will mark both the premiere of Justice Is Mind at a science fiction convention and its first international screening.
Worcester, MA (I-Newswire) September 26, 2013 - Mark Lund, executive producer, director and writer, is pleased to announce that Justice Is Mind will screen at VCON on October 5, 2013 at 8 PM. VCON, Vancouver's premiere science fiction and fantasy convention, will mark both the first international and science fiction convention screening of Justice Is Mind. VCON is the fourth stop of Justice Is Mind's North American screening tour.
"The fringe science presented in Justice Is Mind with its advanced MRI mind reading technology is front and center to the story and the legal issues our court systems are already facing in the present," said Lund. "I'm excited to screen Justice Is Mind to VCON's audiences of science fiction enthusiasts."
Set in the near future where advanced MRI technology can read your memory, Justice Is Mind follows businessman and restaurant owner Henri Miller who has been afflicted with unexplained headaches since childhood. When he has the new FVMRI procedure and it reveals that he has allegedly shot and killed two people, the trial of the century begins in which Miller is faced with his own memory at trial. But all is not as it seems as a dark family secret, held by Henri's minister father Joseph, reveals itself in the courtroom.
"As the director of programming for VCON 38 I was incredibly pleased when approached by Mark Lund about screening Justice is Mind at our event. As a 100% volunteer organized event we are always very excited when independent science fiction or fantasy film makers allow us to screen their movies," said Jenni Merrifield, VCON Director of Programming. "This sense of excitement has only been heightened by the knowledge that, for Justice is Mind, not only are we are the first science-fiction convention to screen the movie but our screening will be its Canadian premiere."
Lund adds, "With United States President Barrack Obama supporting brain research with a $100 million initiative, recent Supreme Court cases regarding landmark DNA and privacy issues along with a July article in The Atlantic magazine titled 'Could the Government Get a Search Warrant for Your Thoughts' Justice Is Mind is a well-timed dramatic feature film."
