Jiwok Introduces A New Web-Based Fitness Service That Coaches You In Music

Share |

A small enterprise offers big coaching solutions by merging sport with music and teaming up with the premiere sports retailer in Europe. A revolutionary new online fitness service is about to launch in North America and the UK.

Paris, France (I-Newswire) February 4, 2011 - According to a study by Professor Costas Karageorghis, a sports psychologist at the University of Brunel, music increases athletic performance.

Jiwok.com, the latest internet coaching trend, has built on this concept by using artificial intelligence technology - known as the Maestro Coach© - to create musically-adapted and voice-guided fitness training programs to download on any mp3 player.

Maestro Coach© is the result of lengthy research and development which analyzes the sequence and rhythm of music, shaping and editing the form to mix with the voice of a professional coach. It basically transforms a regular workout done to music into a high-tech, dynamic training session.

It sounds very technical but the service makes it easy to use. Members enter their physiological data, their goal (weight loss, preparing for a race, etc.), level (beginner, intermediate, advanced), the musical style they want, the number of desired sessions per week, and Jiwok finds a training program customized for them to download instantly on their mp3 player.

Denis Dhekaier, co-founder of Jiwok, says; “We have had users who hated running before they discovered Jiwok, and now love it! From every fitness level, our members have reached different goals such as losing weight, improving running speed, and running distances of 5k through to running a marathon in three hours - it really works for everyone.”

Jiwok certifies that the training programs are created with the help of international professionals in the sports world including nutritionists and even musical therapists. Their service can also be linked with data programs such as Nike+ to provide a comprehensive training package at a cost of $9.90 per month with no time commitment.

Jiwok was founded in 2007 in Paris by two partners, Frederic Najman and Denis Dhekaier. It has been hugely successful in France with over 10,000 customers to date who have used the service, and is quickly expanding its customer base throughout Europe.

In 2010 Jiwok formed a business partnership with leading European sports retailer Decathlon (Oxylane Group), and an affiliation with the Marathon of Paris, with whom they are working on an innovative ‘tourist guide’ program runners can listen to whilst training or taking part in the marathon Swimming and cycling programs are currently being created, as well as training programs in Spanish and Italian. Launching its service in both the US and the UK is the next step in the growth of this small business.
