> First round of campaign was successfully rolled out at selected schools > Received overwhelming participation from over 4000 students

Pune (I-Newswire) December 13, 2013 - JIEM organized English Communication Awareness campaign for Secondary Schools in India. The campaign is aimed at creating awareness about importance of the English communication among school children. First round of campaign was rolled out at selected schools across Pune and Bangalore. JIEM is a Japanese organization that specializes in research and scientific assessments in the field of education & skills measurement.

The Campaign is targeted at students of secondary school where need for strengthening the foundation for English language is very important. The campaign is structured to make students aware of their current English Communication level and then help them improve their weak points. This was achieved with the help of international English Communication exam called CASEC [Computerized Assessment System for English Communication]. CASEC is a diagnostic assessment designed to accurately judge English proficiency level. It is developed by JIEM, a Japanese research and assessment organization. Over 1 million people across globe are using CASEC for their English Communication Assessment.

"In a country like India that is a house to multiple regional languages, English is slowly becoming lingua franca of our nation. Being mother-tongue to none it requires teaching for one and all in our country and hence, it is important to strengthen its roots at a very early age. Exams like CASEC will definitely help Indians bring their English communication skills at par with other global nations. We were happy with the overwhelming response from the schools and are looking forward to greater reach in the second round to be launched soon", said Mr. Shwetank Upadhyaya, CEO at JIEM India.

Over 4000 students wrote CASEC to assess their knowledge of English language communication. These were from Apte School, DES English School, Vidya Vardhini School and Shanu Patel School from Pune and The Oxford CBSE School, Bangalore Scottish School, Nalandha English School, R V Public School from Bangalore. Varad Junnarkar from D.E.S. Secondary School, Pune topped with a grade of AA.

The other toppers of Pune schools are Mansi Phute and Chinmay Joshi from D.E.S. Secondary School, Dhapare Sahil from Apte School and from Bangalore schools are Anshu Pal and Nikitha Sharma from The Oxford CBSE School, Akshara N Udupa and AJAY KUMAR from R V Public School.

Participants of the campaign are awarded with Individual score analysis reports and acknowledgement of their current English communication grades. In addition, schools are also receiving overall reports for all participants to understand general trend of proficiency level of English language among its students. The detailed analysis report for schools also mentions recommendations for school to reach globally accepted benchmark.
