Brighton (I-Newswire) December 13, 2013 - Digital marketing agency Jellyfish are proud to announce their support for Team Atlantic Row 2013 as they take part in the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge. Dan Howie and Will North, both 28, are aiming to complete the epic ocean crossing in 60 days or less and raise ˆ200,000 for their three chosen charities, Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research, Cancer Research UK, and St Anna's, a school and home for orphaned and abandoned children. After a two day delay due to weather conditions, the team set off on the 4th December.
The hugely demanding 3,000 mile rowing challenge across the wild Atlantic Ocean began from San Sebastian in La Gomera and will end at Nelson's Dockyard English Harbour in Antigua. Spending up to 90 days at sea will see Dan and Will deal with sleep deprivation, severe weight loss, sharks, 50ft waves, physical pain and psychological exhaustion.
Throughout their mammoth journey Will and Dan are being 'digitally powered' by Jellyfish, who are hosting and editing content on Team Atlantic Row's website. To support the team, raise awareness of the challenge and encourage donations, Jellyfish are blogging, tweeting, instagramming and facebooking on their behalf. Team Atlantic Row's progress is being tracked daily by Jellyfish and can be followed on their website, http://www.jellyfish.co.uk/atlanticrow2013/
'The success of what we're doing doesn't rely solely on what we do,' explained Dan. 'It's also about how people find us online, how many followers we have on our social channels and who reads our blog. All this is vital to getting the message across and ultimately encouraging people to donate… So what Jellyfish have done and are doing to promote us is just phenomenal.'
'We'd realised that an integral part of this would be a strong online presence,' Will added. 'We already knew some of the team at Jellyfish and were aware of their reputation, therefore were more than confident in their abilities. We've seen them work and they rock!'
With support from London Mayor Boris Johnson, Olympic rowing champions Andrew Triggs Hodge, Sarah Ayton and Sarah Gosling, award-winning rower Steve O'Conner, and legendary athlete Colin Jackson, Team Atlantic Row's incredible mission has certainly made a splash. Now that the cost of the challenge has been covered, all donations will be going directly to the three charities.
