Jason Howe to Lead Discussion on Corporate Compliance and Secure Communications

In the age of "Big Data," Vaporstream executive stresses the need for secure and recordless messaging

Jason Howe, CEO of Vaporstream Inc., a Secure Recordless Messaging Service (SRMS) provider that offers private and secure messaging channels for business communications, will moderate a panel on the importance of secure recordless messaging and its relation to corporate compliance and governance at the General Counsel Conference on June 5 and 6 at the Marriot Marquis. The Honorable Judge Ronald J. Hedges; Nancy Flynn, founder and executive director of The ePolicy Institute; Dawson Horn III, Senior Litigation Counsel at Tyco International; and Tyson Hempel, Enterprise Account Manager at CommVault; will also participate in the panel.

The panel, titled "Corporate Compliance and Secure Communications: Achieving Balance," will address the challenge of developing company policies that comply with corporate governance requirements and protect sensitive communications within an organization. The panel will discuss these challenges in relation to the growing threat of corporate data breach, and address the need for a robust corporate ePolicy to determine the difference between a communication that must be preserved and a communication that does not need to be preserved.

"Secure communications are non-negotiable in today's operating environment," said Howe. "Twenty-first century executives have to worry about hackers, corporate espionage, and both accidental and intentional data leaks. We often think about the need for secure communications as something that must be balanced with the need for business records, but they are actually part of the same need. Just as it is necessary to preserve important business records, it is equally vital to protect sensitive business communications from prying eyes."

As the only truly recordless digital communication platform in the world, Vaporstream helps protect businesses and investors from the $80 billion a year problem caused by security breaches, user errors and communications taken out of context.

"With his background in eDiscovery and ESI, Judge Hedges is an ideal panelist on this topic. He can address the legal requirements and responsibilities surrounding the use of SRMS technology," added Howe. "Hedges 'wrote the book' - his work on eDiscovery and ESI is widely respected in the field. Through her work at The ePolicy Institute, which is devoted to the proper corporate use of technology, Nancy Flynn has also built expertise in this area, and can speak to issues of corporate compliance."

Howe participates in a number of high-level roles in the industry, which provides him a broad perspective on current issues and trends.
