Jamie Jewell Returns To Adelaide Stage For Feast Festival
Ever since his spectacularly outlandish Feast Festival debut in Bittersweet and the Adelaide Cabaret Fringe Festival show Leading Lad(ies) Jamie has continued to entertain on the local and national stage.
Adelaide, South Australia (I-Newswire) October 20, 2012 - The fabulous Jamie C Jewell is back on the Adelaide stage in a new show 'Last Days On Earth'!
Directed by David Paul Jobling, Musical Direction by Carol Young supported by the every ready alt.p(l)unk.classy ballroom quartet- The Paramedix - Chris Sole (Sax), Harley Grey (Bass), Brad Polain (Drums), Carol Young (Piano).
Seriously; if you knew Armageddon was looming or a meteor was plummeting towards Earth or your vital transplant organ was running late in transit, what song would be your finale in the great musical of life? Everybody knows they’re going to take that final bow one day, but nobody really knows when their final number is up do they?
This vibrantly entertaining cabaret delivers a slightly surreal voyage off the horizon of mortality. Witness an emotional smorgasbord of circumstance, unwinding intricacies in a curious quartet of mere mortals all played by the acclaimed Jamie Jewell.
Ever since his spectacularly outlandish Feast Festival debut in Bittersweet and the Adelaide Cabaret Fringe Festival show Leading Lad(ies) Jamie has continued to entertain on the local and national stage; he was nominated for ATG’s Best Male Performance Award for his acclaimed performance in The Lonely Man at the Adelaide Fringe Festival (which enjoyed a return season for the Adelaide Cabaret Fringe) then he earned a position in Fremantle Media’s national search for a (singing/dancing/acting) “triple threat performer” I Will Survive which screened on the Ten Network, and has since been called ‘a virtuoso... a nimble double act all on his own’ (Advertiser) for his work in the Spoke Festival, DPJ and BlackBox@ The Bakehouse Theatre production Ephemera Stains.
What better way to celebrate the onset of summer and the fabulous Feast Festival than by being introduced to a collection of characters who are each about to shuffle off their mortal coil. Celebrate life with Jamie as he presents a perspective on mortality with music, song, laughs, love and a little mayhem.
Come face to face with home untruths, face individual realities, the goring’s and soaring’s of each human spirit. What do we all have in common; the same things as you and I probably, don’t you think? It really is curtains for us all, one day; everyday trials ’n’ tribulations are liable to be interrupted any moment by your last or my final hurrah, so, doesn’t that give us all every reason to really cherish and celebrate every moment and breath we take (including this one)?
No matter how much delight or discord we find in life, it must be embraced, remember to stop and smell the roses, enjoy yourself, because it’s later than you think.
