Sea World San Diego Manta Coaster Complete-J.T. Wimsatt is Proud to Announce the Ride's Opening
San Diego (I-Newswire) May 26, 2012 - J.T. Wimsatt Contracting Company, Inc., a San Diego top 20 commercial concrete contractor, today announced that they have completed work on the Sea World San Diego Manta Coaster Ride. The Manta Coaster opens to the public, Saturday May 26, 2012. The ride includes a half-mile course in a giant manta ray-shaped ride-car and includes an amazing 54-foot drop into a subterranean trench.
J.T. Wimsatt built the foundations and footings for the coaster’s structural steel frame and five support buildings (launch and maintenance building, restrooms, 100,000 gallon aquarium and viewing area, and two elevator building). JTW poured a total of 4,628 CY of concrete of which 2,074 CY was an Aquatic Mix and 569 CY of it was colored concrete.
