Island Trader Vacations Donates $1000 to the Salvation Army

Island Trader Vacations offers support to its members and to members of the community by donating $1000 to the Salvation Army

Island Trader Vacations has been offering its support to charities and organizations for many years. This year in continuing support for the community, Island Trader Vacations has donated $1000 to the Salvation Army. The Salvation Army is an international charitable organization with over 1.5 million members worldwide and was founded in 1865 in London by one time minister of the Methodist faith, William Booth. First known as the North London Christian Mission, the Salvation Army, as it later became, expanded its service to Australia, Ireland and the United States by 1880.

Through the years, the Salvation Army has become an integral part of the relief efforts of other organizations such as disaster relief efforts following hurricanes and earthquakes but is also well recognized by its thousands of volunteers wearing red and ringing bells in an effort to raise donations outside stores and on streets across the nation each holiday season.

One of the most well known and respected charities in the United States, the Salvation Army and its volunteers offer support and social services to communities throughout the nation and elsewhere around the world including rehabilitation, disaster relief, missing persons, elder services, youth camps, sponsorships, community care ministries, music and more.

Island Trader Vacations offers annual support to a number of worthy charities including not only the Salvation Army but the USO in support of America's troops, St. Jude Children's Hospital and the Midshipmen's Morale Fund at the Merchant Marine Academy.

Island Trader Vacations is dedicated to member satisfaction and offers many diverse travel options and valuable member benefits on travel.
