Irell & Manella Elects Marshall Camp to Partnership

Los Angeles (I-Newswire) January 5, 2012 - Irell & Manella LLP (www.irell.com) announces the election of litigator Marshall Camp as a partner of the firm. Resident in Irell & Manella's Los Angeles office, Camp is a former federal prosecutor who represents companies and individuals in connection with high-stakes litigation and in defense of criminal and regulatory investigations and enforcement actions.

In addition to his practice, Camp currently serves as co-chair of the American Bar Association's national White Collar Crime/Tax Fraud Subcommittee and was recently named a 2011 “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers. Camp is also chair of Irell & Manella's Los Angeles summer associate program and a member of the Hiring Committee.

Camp began his career at Irell & Manella as an associate in 2003, following a clerkship with the Honorable Stephen V. Wilson of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. In 2005, he left the firm to serve as an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, where he handled criminal matters that ranged from white collar frauds to narco-terrorism and money laundering. During his final year in the U.S. Attorney's Office, Camp served as a lead prosecutor and trial counsel in one of the largest criminal tax cases in U.S. history. Camp returned to Irell & Manella in 2009 as special counsel, focusing on trial practice, complex commercial litigation and white collar criminal defense. He has represented clients in the technology, entertainment, restaurant and health care industries, among others.

Camp earned his J.D., cum laude, from New York University School of Law where he was a Florence Allen Scholar and editor-in-chief of the Annual Survey of American Law. He earned his B.A., magna cum laude, in comparative politics from the University of Oklahoma where he was Phi Beta Kappa.
