An up and coming UK fashion designer has secured country-wide recognition for her acclaimed designs, following the appearance of her work on E4's 'Made in Chelsea' television series.
As one of the UK's freshest independent talents in the fashion arena, Katie Darlington, a top designer for Niiche, was selected to appear in an episode of the popular series, in which she was showcased as herself, being chosen as a favourite upcoming designer.
The fashion in the episode also featured highly acclaimed designers Jessica Choay and Vielma London. During the TV fashion event, a Horton print silk shirt from the Katie Darlington collection was worn by Francesca Newman Young, creative consultant at perfect songs and part of the 'Made in Chelsea' cast.
The stunning Horton print shirt attracted considerable attention and as a result, a capsule collection of smart casual pieces will be available towards the end of 2014. Katie commented:
"I take a lot of inspiration from abandoned landscapes, architecture and photography. I find derelict and abandoned space particularly interesting and a lot of my prints are as a result of trying to distort or decompose materials. My collections tend to be based on mood. The atmosphere or the feeling of a particular location, image or piece of writing can start the creative process"
To compliment the label's printed designs, Katie Darlington is preparing to launch her first ever exclusively hand made, luxury leather handbag range. Exceptionally well crafted and in high demand, Katie will be taking pre-orders for the initial launch, which is to be announced through Niiche online shortly. Uniquely, the entire range is also manufactured in the UK.
