Inofea Presents Innovative Recognition Nanomaterials at Hannover Messe 2013
The Swiss high-tech spin-off, INOFEA will present its first commercially available product at the world's leading showcase for industrial technology, staged annually in Hannover, Germany.
Online, March 22, 2013 (Newswire.com) - From 8 to 12 April 2013, INOFEA will present its innovative nanomaterials that can be embedded in industrial processes to drastically improve the detection, removal or transformation of target compounds in complex conditions.
Hannover Messe 2013 is the first time when INOFEA goes public, in the Research and Technology section of the trade show, as part of the Swiss pavilion. INOFEA's scientists will present their first commercially available product - GREENofea, a highly efficient biocatalyst in harsh environments aimed to drastically improve industrial processes and decrease costs.
Besides GREENofea, INOFEA will present one more product still in the development stage, but that already caught the attention of the research industry: VIRofea, a nanoparticle with many virus specific recognition sites, featured by Nature Communications in the beginning of 2013. According to Patrick Shahgaldian, Professor at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts, Northwestern Switzerland, and scientific advisor for INOFEA, "these virus-imprinted particles display remarkable selectivity and affinity. It represents a milestone in the production of purely synthetic materials that possess high affinity and high selectivity for viruses."
