Indica Labs Extends Capabilities for Neuroscience with Microglial Activation Analysis Software

Albuquerque, NM (I-Newswire) November 11, 2011 - Indica Labs, Inc. extends its capabilities in the field of Neuroscience by releasing a highly advanced image analysis software package for measuring microglial cell activation in brightfield microscopic images. The software is the first of its kind for providing quantitative, objective, detailed metrics for measuring overall glial cell activation in brain tissue sections.

Microglial cells act as defenders of the brain and their activation level can be an important indicator of brain injury, disease, or toxins. The measurement of microglial cell activation has become a critical aspect of research for many neurological diseases including Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, and autism.
