IMAGINARY BAND KICKSTARTS NEW KIDS CD

Berwyn, Illinois – Dedicated to preserving humanity's playful and celebratory nature, Istvan and His Imaginary Band have begun a campaign to raise money for their second kids CD at Kickstarter, a “funding platform for creative projects.” With approximately 20 days left, the band has raised over 50% of their goal. Previous albums include Between Stations, People Like to Be Fooled, and a well-received kids EP titled, Things I Like. The new CD will be a single-fold digipack with art direction and design by artist Chris Uphues. The track listing includes songs which quickly have become new live show favorites.

The inspiration for Istvan's new commitment to children's music is Istvan's daughter, who even performs with dad from time to time. The music is fun for both kids and adults, and the band is skillful and entertaining. In a review about Istvan's children's song “What's Mama Doin',” from the first Kids CD titled Things I Like, father blogger Jeff Bogle states: “My kids can barely appreciate the lyrics because there's something about the song that causes them to laugh hysterically. Every. Single. Time.”

Istvan's children's music has made it to Pandora, Cdbaby, Amazon, and itunes, and he has performed numerous kids shows both solo and with his band in the Chicagoland area. On Saturday December 10th, 2011 Istvan and His Imaginary Band will be playing with The Boogers at Fitzgeralds in Berwyn from 12 p.m. – 3 p.m., in support of Berwyn CARES. All proceeds will go directly back into the school system in the form of Berwyn CARES Teacher Grants via Donorschoose.org.
