Hyundai Motor America Reports Best Ever February Sales

Hyundai hits record-setting sales numbers in February for the third year in a row.

Hyundai has long been one of the top selling and most respected car makers in the world. Their dedication to providing high quality, fuel efficient vehicles has helped them increase their sales margins every year, especially in the month of February, and especially for Oak Lawn drivers at Happy Hyundai.

Hyundai Motor America has experienced a major upswing in sales in 2013: in fact, it was reported on March 1st that Hyundai has hit their all-time best sales numbers for the month of February. Sales went up 2% from last year to 52,311 units sold.

This increase came on top of Hyundai's previous record setting sales in 2012, which followed record breaking sales in 2011. It seems that every February has been improving for Hyundai for quite some time.

What is especially impressive about these numbers is that they come during one of the slower car buying months of the year during a continued economic slump that has plagued America for several years.

Individual car numbers have seen especially huge increases for Hyundai as well. Sales for the Santa Fe jumped up 64% from last year's February period, with overall sales of the Santa Fe up 42% as well.

The Elantra also had huge gains for the year. It was up 17% from last year with a 15% gain on the year. February was a huge month for the Elantra too: it was awarded as a "top car pick" in a car rating magazine.

Other intriguing increases included increased sales to rental accounts and government agency vehicles. These vehicles accounted for 15% of February's total sales, another record setting increase over last year.

Hyundai's dedication to Certified Pre-Owned Vehicles also paid big dividends in February. CPO vehicles are low mileage, high quality cars that have become all the rage in the last few years. February was the best month of all time for CPO vehicles, with sales of 5,627, a 9% from 2012.

Up to 11,020 CPO units have already been certified and are ready to be sold. This volume is up 12% from 2012's volume. These huge sales seem to indicate that Hyundai could become one of the top car manufacturers. Their infamous Super Bowl ads may have been a huge boost to their sales as they focused on the Elantra and the Santa Fe.
