Siem Reap (I-Newswire) December 27, 2011 - It’s gone viral! The spectacular Christmas Tree designed by the creative team at Hôtel de la Paix, Siem Reap has reached millions around the world. Since the launch in early December at the ever-changing Arts Lounge, the tree has amazed visitors to Cambodia and images of the tree were spread on Facebook and internet. Over the past weeks it was featured on various blogs, Facebook pages and also attracted international medias’ attention with coverage on Conde Nast Traveller, Washington Times Communities and BBC News.

Last night the hotel has yet again surprised its full house of guests, and unveiled the Christmas Tree with a rather cool backdrop in contrast to the warmer weather in Cambodia. Hundreds of ice blocks were hung from ceiling around the heavenly feather tree, with candles and ice blocks scattered in the water on the sunken ground of the Arts Lounge. As the ice melted and dripped through the night, smoke machine was also used to add a mystic feel to Christmas.

In house guests and diners who celebrated Christmas Eve with a sumptuous 5-course Festive dinner at the hotel’s fine dining Meric Restaurant were extremely impressed. Many have said they would never imagine such an astonishing Christmas set up in Siem Reap.
